Friday Tampa Blog

What an awesome fall day we are having at High Rocks!  We still have a full day of awesome activities as each group heads into their last rotation.  Blue skies and temperatures in the upper-60’s today!  There are a few pictures below. I will try to put up some more after lunch, and then again later.  We will all have a final campfire, and then the buses will plan to roll out around 9:00pm.  I will also let everyone know when the group has rolled out of camp.  So, check back in late as well!

9:00pm:  The kids rolled out of here at 8:55pm!  All accounted for, tired, and ready for home…

It sure has been a great week.  For many here this week, the biggest challenge was just being away from home for almost 6 days!  The students learned a lot about themselves, their classmates, and how to be members of a team.  At times, they were wet, dirty, cold, and most probably frustrated.  And while many of us parents never want to see our children struggle, or have a hard time, these are some powerful lessons. These children learned some resilience, character, leadership, and even a little empathy for their fellow student.  Are they better for it?  You bet!

We sure appreciate your trust in Tampa Prep, the teachers, and High Rocks this week!  It sure was an amazing time for all of us!  Have a wonderful school year and keep in touch!

If you want to hear about summer camp for boys, we will be in Tampa and St. Pete next week. Meet some kids already coming to camp and check it out for next summer. Check out our Travel Schedule for details.
